Description

The Baptist Church is the largest single denomination in the Southern United States. This database is a collection of marriage and death notices from three newspapers in South Carolina between 1835 and 1865. Although published in Charleston and Columbia, persons from surrounding states can also be found in this database. The notices come from the following newspapers: Southern Baptist and General Intelligencer, Charleston (1835-1837); Southern Baptist, Charleston (1847-1860); and Confederate Baptist, Columbia (1862-1865).
