The population of Ohio is expected to top 10 million around the turn of the century, yet amidst this growth tens of thousands die each year. The state department of health has the responsibility of recording these deaths. This index of persons who died in the state in 1992 contains over 15,000 such records provided by the Ohio Department of Health.
In addition to the name of the deceased and date of death, information in this database includes birth date, race, education level, and father's surname. Armed with such information, researchers can reconstruct significant aspects of an ancestor's life and family relations.
