This index to the census returns of 1774 for the State of Rhode Island is categorized by each town. There are over 9,000 records which contain the following information: family surname, name of the male head of the family, number of white males both above and under age 16, the number of white females above age 16, and the number of Indians and Blacks. All towns are complete, except for the town of Shoreham.
